Sashiko stitching produces handwork which is both elegant and pleasing. The River Gallery offers a range of traditional Japanese Sashiko patterns printed on 100% cotton. All of the designs listed in the drop down menu are printed on dark navy cloth and the printing will wash away after you have completed your stitching. Each pattern measures approximately 13" square with an attached plain square which can be used for the back. This is a perfect size for tea towels, pillows or hand-bags. Piece more than one sampler and add your favourite Japanese or Batik fabrics to make tablerunners, wall-hangings or full-size quilts. We use traditional Sashiko threads, perle cotton and hand-dyed threads so be sure to check out the colour charts for thread selection.
